2) Describe the aims of the study.
The purpose of this study is to obtain information on the effects of behavioral interventions for
memory and communication deficits in people taking cholinesterase inhibitors to the effects of
cholinesterase inhibitors alone.

The study is an interventional study. The research plan is to study and collect data on the effect
of behavior intervention in conjunction with cholinesterase inhibitors. The university had
participants from different ages and will give cholinesterase inhibitions and half of them will be
chosen randomly to receive speech language pathology intervention. The intervention will
include 1 hour treatment and 16 sessions over 2 months focusing on enhancing memory and
functional communication.

The study recruitment status is completed in July 20,2010 and it have been investigate from the
US federal government

7) Describe the procedures of the study.

1.- Participants will be randomly selected to participate in Group A (control) or Group B
(intervention).
2.- Group A will use a Caregiver Checklist for eight weeks to identify any increase or decrease in the
occurrence of the identified communication deficits.
3.- Group B will have 16 treatment sessions by a Speech Language Pathologist during the eight-week
period.
4.- All participants will receive a post test
